Description: The chain vise is commonly used to hold pipes or irregularly shaped objects. Main advantage over a regular pipe vise is the large clamping surface limited only by the length of the chain. This particular chain vise is patented and features a cross slide with no apparent functionality. What was this used for? As of now none know. I've research the patent number without success... Methods I used to remove rust are the following: - Electrolysis for large parts. Water + sodium carbonate and 12v battery charger with negative side connected to parts. - Ultrasonic cleaner for small parts. First with solvent to degrease and then with rust removal fluid 20min each. - Plain rust removal fluid for the chain leaving it overnight.
